This month we’re excited to highlight our HeaterMeals line of shelf-stable meal kits and beverages.  They are a great alternative to use during low-density training especially, this time of year!  The new Variety Kits were designed to provide the Warfighters more menu options while helping SPV’s consolidate (cut down) line items.  Please see the advantages below which outline and compare MRE’s to Heater Meals.

Additionally, please note the Heater Meals are normally at least $2.00 less per case of 12 than MRE’s.  I’ve electronically attached our information briefing and POS for Heater Meals, GoMeals & Café-2-Go for your files.  For those of you not familiar with “Go Meals”, they are a heater-less alternative to HeaterMeals and MRE’s and POS is attached.

We have found at most installations the dietician and nutritional community prefer the HeaterMeals to MRE's when possible because of their healthier formula. They are more in keeping with the DOD's push for healthy alternatives.

Below are some bullet comparisons regarding HeaterMeals Plus vs. MRE's:

  • HeaterMeals Plus entrees are 12 ounce (versus 8 ounce for an MRE).
  • HeaterMeals Plus has 12 varieties of Lunch/Dinner meals (3 of which are vegetarian)
  • HeaterMeals Plus 5 Breakfast Kits (4 new oatmeal varieties which are a single SKU)
  • HeaterMeals Plus have Juice Bowl beverages in the kit, instead of MRE beverage powder.
  • HeaterMeals Plus are designed to keep sodium as low as possible.
  • HeaterMeals Plus Meal Kits offer 40% to 60% less sodium content compared to MREs.
  • HeaterMeals Plus are designed for non-combat exercises and missions and therefore have 25 - 30% fewer calories.
  • HeaterMeals Plus items have 15 - 20% higher fiber and protein content compared to MRE's.
  • HeaterMeals Plus entrees are heated and served in a tray for easier handling while eating.
  • HeaterMeals Plus Kits come in colorful packages to create appetite and eye appeal.
  • HeaterMeals Plus kits contain name brand products such as Juice Bowl, King Nut, and Famous Amos brand cookies.
